My Switzer R911 results from last night
Hi guys,
Sorry, I have not posted in a while as I have been consumed with work and our "busy" season. In any event, I wanted to share some of lasts night data from Milan Race Way up in my former home state Michigan. David Kim was kind enough to take my Switzer R911 on the PUMP gas setting up there even though I had to cancel at the last minute for work and could not make the 250 mile round trip with him.
My instructions were clear, "I want to see what this car traps compared to your R911 GT2 in street conditions (pump gas). I DO NOT want you to abuse or launch the car hard out of the hole, I DO NOT want you to lower the tire pressure for better 60 foot, I SIMPLY want a trap speed and 60-130mph data." To be honest with you guys I would have suspected that his 08 GT2 R911 would have trapped a few mile per faster due to the light weight nature of that car...I was surprised to see these results and actually my full weight 07 911 Turbo R911 trapped a few mile per hour faster showing that the gearing in the Turbos is more important on this package than the light weight nature of the GT2.
Thanks again David and when you get the Vbox data and actual time slips go ahead and post them up.
1st qtr mile run (spun through first and second gear):
1.88 60 ft.
11.40 @ 140.18mph
2nd qtr mile run:
1.87 60 ft.
10.985 @ 141.51mph
60-130 run:
5.75 1 shift
All in all, I would say this is the perfect street set up. Next season, I will certainly try a C16 race gas run with some appropriate drag radial tires and see how those stats come out. Now onto winter storage
