you guys are definitely missing the point i think.
Is not to get personal respect from driving a porsche ou a lambo.
Is that the "non car guys" unfortunately/fortunately, at lest in L.A, see a 911 turbo as a "regular" car and not a dream car, as it is in 99% of the rest of the world, at least the world i know and i live.
that´s definitely because the similarity between almost all porsches, but again, that´s the beauty of the 911

I have to say that I don't get that. I know that in BH there are like milion Lambos, Ferraris, Bentleys etc, but still: how can you not appreciate PORSCHE? One of the finest car manufacturers in automotive history, with racing heritage and beautiful design.
Every time I see a Porsche (every 2/3 moths), I go nuts, the concept of time doesn't exist and I could stare at it forever. But BH is not Poland, so there's a different car culture I think. Still, being able to daily-drive 997TT with no staring at You is more comfortable.
So, if You want attention, You can always roll in a Lambo, and if it's only about peaceful driving - just go with a 997TT.
And of course - enjoy those beasts, because just being an owner of these modern masterpieces makes You a very lucky person!

I think living in LA (especially BH) you get somewhat Numb to fancy cars... I know as a Kid, I loved cars, and when my uncle got his Porsche Turbo, I remember thinking "Big Deal, its no Ferrari" But as I learned more about Cars, etc I realized the differences, and finally figured out what a Porsche really is...
It reminds me of when I lived in Wyoming... I was out with a few friends and Range Rover drove by (nothing too fancy) and they were freaking out.. I was like "Big Deal its a F'in Soccer Mom mobile" and they responded with "I've never seen a Range Rover before!!" Then when one of them came out to Cali to visit, he was freaking out as we drove down PCH, and couldn't believe so many sick cars existed in one area, I just laughed - Being born and raised in Calabasas, fancy cars are kinda just the norm. So unless yours is bigger, louder, or flashier it doesnt get much attention (unless car nuts are present)
Another Great Story... Buying the Wife the A3 over at Rusnak Audi/Porsche in Westlake, and there is a CGT sitting at the service drive, I started FREAKING OUT!! My wife started laughing... the Car SalesWOMAN looked at me all crazy... She said "You think thats cool, wait till you see the R8!!" I just laughed, and said "I dont need to see an R8, that is the car of cars right there, my dream car..." She just looked at me funny, and replied "Really, I'm surprised, that car is old..."

This comment has no basis in reality. In the 18 yrs I have lived in LA, I have seen a woman driving a 911 less than 10 times, a woman driving a Ferrari once and have never seen a woman driving a Lambo. To the contrary, LA is a huge (perhaps the hugest) car town. People here know more about cars than any other city in the world, because they spend so much time in them. We even have our own automotive museum. And there are more amazing Ps, Fs and Ls here than any other city in the world. But it is because of these facts, that Porsches just don't mean shit in LA. I should know as I have had three of them.
and i'll completely disagree, atleast when I was down in OC i saw woman driving porsches and ferraris (even lambos a few times) frequently
And there is definitely not a larger and more diverse car region in the world then there is in So Cal...i miss home

It is a good thing driving a 997 Turbo everday without getting attention, I assume you can park it just about anywhere not being afraid someone might key the hell out of a car as apposed to driving a red 458/430 and getting loads of people lean on it and take pictures and what not whilst out of your sight.

As far as the US goes... IMHO, I would actually say that Miami/Bal Harbor MAY be a step above the LA car game.
edit: Actually I take that back... LA overall is probably more diverse than Miami... though if you compare Bal Harbor to one specific region of LA, then it may vary.
