Turbo S First 1000 miles!
Well, the first 1000 miles in the Turbo S have been loads of fun.

I have honestly enjoyed driving this car so much, its become a part-time daily driver. This car is so easy and fun to drive. Its really no fuss whatsoever. This is exactly what I was looking for - and I love it.
I can totally see why some of you guys here - the serious enthusiasts - who might not like the Turbo S because of its relatively "tame" nature - But the car does three things really well.
1. Impeccable handling - Well, most porsches do anyway, but with the PTV and all the other bells and whistles - it drives like nothing else I've experienced. At slow speeds and not in sport mode, the car is flacid - its steering (and its engine) are boring - in sport mode, its like a bottle of Jolt cola to the car's nervous system! Fantastic! Even the exhaust note improves and the car just comes to life.
2. Speed - I really haven't opened it up just yet, and certainly haven't used Launch Control yet - I was always taught as a young boy to break in an engine before beating on it - But you can't help it at times....This car is fast. I mean super duper rocket fast. So it's fast and handles like its glued to the road. Not bad at all.
3. Comfort - that's right - this car is comfortable. From the A/C seats, to the cupholders, to the most excellent bluetooth microphone ever created - this car just wants to give you the best all-around driving experience ever. Top down, 85mph on the highway, perfect conversation. While my back and ass are being cooled.
It just doesnt get any better if you are going to own one "sports" car - this should be high on your list.
I will gripe that I find the paddle shifters to be more of a gimmick - they are still not up to the level of Ferrari F1 shifters. My 612 had the non-supersport shifters and transmission, but it still was much more responsive to up and down shifts than the Turbo S -
Also, I dont like how you cant shift into neutral using the paddles. So, its really just tiptronic enhanced as far as I'm concerned. In "standard" mode, the shifts are terribly sluggish. I'm sure there must be a way to tune this.....In sport mode, it gets much better, but still a long way off from the feel of Ferrari.
Still - This is the first car in a long time for me that I can honestly say I love. It fits my needs perfectly - especially with the three car seats in it at all times!
Hope all you other guys are enjoying yours!
Best,

LOL - Don't think I didnt try to figure out a way to stuff the three of them back there!
Two in the back - one with the dealer installed LATCH and air-bag de-activation kit installed in the front!
The kids all vote unanimously for the Porsche over the F-car.
If Porsche would make me a custom Panamera with a bench seat in the back so I could get three car/boosters back there - I'd buy one in a second!

I havent really tried.... to be honest - I forgot I could do that. Shifting from the center is kinda gay though - If i wanted to do that, i would have bought a stick shift car.
I like the paddles. I like the concept - I like how Ferrari, the paddles are FIXED to the steering column - not attached to the wheel so when you need a shift, and the wheel is turned, you dont know which is up or down - Crap -
Porsche really has engineered the hell out of this car - but they stopped at the paddle shifters.
Please Porsche development team -you can do better on a 180K car.
