I had an '08 F430 for a week last month and was not impressed by the car at all other than the exhaust note.


BTW...the more aggressively you start driving the Turbo the better the response from the paddle shifting.

 

i believe it was a mistake by the dealer when he ordered the car.

 

I ordered the car with a deviating dash in black with natural tan interior - The "mistake" was the trim strip against the windshield - i requested the entire top of the dash be in black - this trim strip came in in tan, along with the two ac vents in the upper dash.

My reasoning for originally wanting a full black dash is less reflection from sunlight on the windshield - light colored dashboards reflect alot to my eyes -

The error has grown on me and I love the contrast. Its not something I would have thought to spec, but I am happy now. I really do love this car.

I will start to beat on her a little more starting tomorrow. I believe the car will get better as it gets more broken in. I have not taken the car past 5K rpm for the first 1000 miles. Tomorrow - launch control test. I really wonder what 2.9 0-60 feels like.....

I agree. I've done 4,000 km and I've noticed the same thing.

 

Nice write-up! I am coming up on my first 1000 miles...probably tonight! I have to echo that it's been really fun driving this car! It is absolutely the fastest car I've driven as well!

I made the transition from the V10 M5, which unfortunately has the opposite direction for the center console shifter... I keep on shifting in the opposite way...probably will just stick with paddle shifting, although this car is kind of too fast for me to even use the paddles, I end up redlining a lot... I will take some pictures and post it up in the next few days!
