2009 TT Engine Problems?

Hello Forum,

I took delivery of my new 2009 TT convertible in March of last year. The car developed an engine problem almost immediately that the Porsche Repair Centre could only fix with tune-ups; even then, the problem never fully went away. The symptoms are as follow:
• Soot on the exhaust
• A loud popping sound from the engine
• Sometimes large quantity of white smoke would come out from the exhaust at start-up
• Sometimes I would get hesitation from the engine at high speed (+200KM)

My Porsche repair centre has proven itself to be useless and I am really at a loss on the car problem. Any advice or help is greatly appreciated.

For the Price of a TT I would walk in and demand the keys to the highest ranked sales persons car until they either dropped a new engine in and or corrected the problem. Grow a pair, march in there and get WTF you deserve son.

I have had the white smoke at start up on my 997TT few times. But could not figure out what it was

I have owned two 997 Turbos (2007 & 2008) and occasionally notice this phenomenon. Two independent mechanics have confirmed that it is typical behavior for Porsche Turbos.
