Local black on black 2009 997TT Cab gets Shark-a-fied
This local black on black 2009 997TT Cabriolet came into us for a full suspension overhaul, HRE wheels, a Tubi Street Exhaust system as well as a couple of TechArt accents.
In stock form...

On the lift she goes with the rear bumper removed:

On goes the lighter weight (saves approx 28 pounds) Tubi Street exhaust with 200 cell cats:

A close-up:

Bumper and heat shields back on:

Over to the suspension now. A look at the stock rear end and suspension components...

We replaced the factory upper links with their neoprene (aka soft) bushings with the RSS upper link kit:

Next up are the RSS Bump/Toe-steer lower links and TechArt spring kit:

The rear adjustable RSS sway bar kit is the final piece installed in the rear end:

And now over to the front...

Replaced with the lowering kit from TechArt:

Over to the outside, the TechArt type I front lip was also installed:

The classic HRE 597R wheel with a brushed/clear center and polished outer

A shot of the factory hardware ready to go home (aka the dumpster!):

And finished...

She will be back for some power mods soon

Very clean. But, would softer neoprene bushings cause more travel and compromise handling?
I thought upgrades normally consisted of harder bushings. Obviously I am not knocking your work- I would just like to learn more.

HEY! At least recycle those stock parts.
What a great look those mods produced. I'm also curious about the use of the softer bushings. Are they a better compromise for street use? the HRE wheels really complete the look. Fabulous.

Hehe thanks man... Finally:P I'll take some pix of the progress but we already put to use the banner:P Thanks!
We actually usually give them to the Crucible to use as parts etc... Usually! Glad you like them and in terms of changing out the suspension parts for stiffer and better pivot points it just makes those TT's more settled and they stick better. The rear ends are wishy-washy stock so this helps. There's no added noise either thanks to the delrin
On the HRE's, those guys still set the standards year after year. I have to say we've only ever really sold one brand of wheels over the years and that brand has/is HRE.
Thanks! She's not done yet... More to come.
Danke!
These are harder bushings. We were/are removing the softer factory ones
Not sure if that got mixed up when reading it. Absolutely right... we don't like the softer factory stuff;P
Haha thanks!
