If you decide that you can't wait for the transport to Chicago, I would be willing to pick it up in Baltimore and drive it there for you for a small fee. As an added bonus, it would be completely broken in by the time you got it!

Aw man, I'm late to the party..I would have happily helped you with figuring out the color combinations, options, etc. I've helped many with this issue. Hell, I spotted one of the most gorgeous colors for the 997 ever when I visited Germany. I met up with their customization specialist who showed me this very special Turbo in Fountain Blue. GORGEOUS!

It even had a two tone interior

Well, it's too late but what you ordered should look stunning! I can't wait to see pictures.

I'm willing to undercut his fee by 10%. So, there. Congratulations on the purchase; can't wait to see some photographs of it when you have time to pry yourself away for a minute or two .

I'll do it for free, fly myself out there, pay all my lodging & food costs, and throw in my usual photo shoots complete with free pictures. I've taken delivery of several Turbos, 997s, Ferraris, etc for various other friends/owners/members, etc.

You guys should know Alin demands quality and is not interested in your low-service offer to joy ride through the north in his Turbo S! Sure, it may be slightly more expensive to hire me instead, but the always-on dashcam video I use will provide you with the peace of mind that your new car was well taken care of (compare this with nightmares of your car doing 150mph through traffic on I-80 as Jeff and Bluestrike take turns at the wheel).

Looking forward to the pics!

Jeebus...that fountain blue is awesome.

I have car ADD way too badly to try waiting for a "color to sample" car. Plus, I'm still a real fan of classic silver...as boring as it is (sorry CfC). I really miss the color of my 05 GT silver 997S and was kinda tired of my 08 cobalt blue 997TT (the color that is...not the car. ).

I hear you brother...back when I was ordering mine. I originally went with GT Silver but when I test drove one in Germany, I found it to be a bit too understated for my tastes so I changed my order to Cobalt Blue. It delayed my order by a month. It was extremely frustrating for me to have to wait a bit longer but in the end, that extra waiting was worth it when I finally got behind the wheel. So, if I had come in earlier, I'd have advised you to wait for color to sample to get the exact car you wanted. There's nothing, nothing more fulfilling than having something that you truly wanted. I plan to keep mine for as long as I can. She's the car I've wanted for a lifetime.

Ultimately, you can't go wrong with the choices you make. GT or Arctic silver is still a stunning color that will always be timeless in the years to come.

Hey you three!! This is my scam! Go find your own sucker to con into letting you take their brand new car and bump it off redline in all 6 gears for a thousand miles!!

Errr... I mean... It was my idea to gently and professionally deliver this beauty of a car to my friend Al as a personal favor.... Ummm... yeah, that's my story and I'm sticking with it.

Fine. We'll have a support vehicle, and change off every few hundred miles. You happy, now?
