Wow, a 5 second better lap time than the 911 turbo and Z06, that is impressive. I can't wait to see one at my local race track.

Good job Nissan. If Porsche doesn't one up, they are gonna die.

God help us.

Pity there wasn't more of a review of the comparo, not hugely surprising though (for someone who's been around GTR's for years) they've always kicked arse. Now we just have to wait until the real fun starts when the V-Spec and EVO versions hit

Godzilla is defiantly back.

I know there have been dozens (if not hundreds of posts) about the GT-R.

Here's my view: The GT-R is without doubt and extraordinary piece of technology. I give Nissan major kudos for launching a car that is capable of 997TT performance. That being said, I think they really failed in the aesthetics department (as do most Japanese cars IMHO).

It was only a few years ago that we had the exact same posts on all of the Porsche forums except substituting "Z06" for "GT-R." Remember? I recall the same story: Z06 is faster than the 997TT etc etc, Nurburgring etc etc.

A few years later, the Z06 and the 997TT are still both great cars (the Porsche being much greater of course). Z06 and 997TT owners are both happy as clams,....but you don't see the comparos as often now and people don't seem to care.

This is exactly what will happen with the GT-R. Give it a year and people won't care: GT-R owners will hopefully be happy and 997TT owners will definitely be happy.
