The CDV takes care of one problem, but the newer BMW's still has shit soft clutch.

Go drive a GT car, you will realize how much lacking in the clutch feel the over assisted Turbo clutch is.

Have you driven a 6spd 996 or 997 turbo? The power assist clutch is very mushy. Feels like I could blow on it and it would depress. No tactile feedback with engagement. Slave conversion removes the assist giving a much heavier pedal effort, but supposedly (I haven't driven one with the conversion yet) much more feedback.
No, I haven't driven either before but I can see how this mod would greatly improve the response to the car compared to a mushy clutch
