I bought some H&R Spring and I have a few questions for the expect. Is there any special alignment I need after I get it lowered or is this something the dealer can do? Also, how many hours of labor do I expect to paid a shop to install it?

Hi Peter, the "book" pays 1.5 labor hours for each front, and 2.0 each for the rears. Most dealers charge $125 per hour for a total of 7.0hrs x $125 = 875.00. I had my H&R's installed by an independent for 380.00, it helps to make friends with a mechanic you trust. You will need to get an alignment done afterwards. You could get it done at the same time, or, as I have seen recommended several times, wait a couple of hundred miles for the springs to set.

+1 expect around a $1K for installation and alignment. About $155 for a new front lip from Suncoast. Get a couple in stock, you will need it.

 

... gawd, I keep wishing I had a front lip, that RUF is going to cost me if I rip it off of there; it was a complete PITA to put on. The install on the 996 was perfect, 997? sucked bal&s

thanks Neijia! local Porsche tuner wanted to charge me 7.8hr of labor @ $90/hr. Alignment is 3.8 hrs wanted $499 for spring but will discount $100 I'm not going to them for sure.

 

never use a dealer for ne thin other than warranty they are typically god awful

thats a 12 hour job and the alignment depends on the application, street or track

edit: as far as keeping the lip on, just use black epoxy towards the back, we just had a cup car collect the wall a ton but the lip was still on what was left of the bumper

 

The factory lip is on there pretty good, I try to remove it last night but no luck. Anyone have any idea how to remove it without breaking anything? I try to do a search but nothing come up.
