New Turbo on the Porsche Configurator
#11
Eric you had mentioned in a previous post about the '10 being a dry sump?? Now is it for certain, the '10 does not have the GT1 engine?? Great news for me, if it so. I will have what I think is one of the last of a great series, a TT based on the GT1. from what Wayne Corley told me at Ruf, the GT1, is way better than the 9A1.

Kinda ridiculous that a well spec'ed MkII 997 Turbo is $180K+ .... I think I'd probably go for a used Gallardo SL or a Ford GT if I had that kind of money in the first place. Now if you could get a 997TT with all of the right options and had a slick car for $150K out the door, then we'd be in business.

Used is the way to go now. Unless PAG restructures its pricing model, these things are not going to fly out the door in current price range.
On the GT1 block, no official word. The 2010 Order Guide I posted up before says dry sump w/external tank. I would think that's a typo. All the other rumors indicate integrated sump, so I would expect the 2010 Turbo has the 9A1 cheaper block (yet higher price). The only GT1 block Porsches for 2010 are supposedly the GT3 variants.
