help needed asap.. so spacers affect performance? 996 turbo

so i picked up a uset set of champion monolite rs97 wheels in 19x8, 19x11.. literally like brand new.

anyhow, the offset of the rears is 68 which i was told was NOT intended for the turbo wider body. i was told this by champion salesperson... mmm..

anyhow, he mentioned i have 2 choices.. put on a 20mm spacer in the rears, or find another wheel.

will a 20mm spacer for the rears affect performance at all?

look at most race cars and you'll see they too use spacers. it's not my favorite thing to do but it works. make sure they're high-quality spacers. Doesn't affect the performance.

High quality spacers are the ones that come with their own bolts and accessories such as Techart, H&R and other German tuners. I wouldnt run more than 7-15mm.

20 mm is really pushing it. If you are going to do this replace the bolts with studs/nuts.

You could use the 17 mm Porsche spacer set. Sunset sells them for about 250 bucks.

From an old Rennlist post of mine...
The Porsche 17 mm spacers come with 10 black nuts. The spacer then mounts to the wheel hub using the original wheel bolts. The wheel then secures to the spacer using the black nuts. BTW, these nuts are so far inside the wheel that you don’t notice them.
