But with this deal, the synergy effects are sure to be more drastic and obvious. More shared platforms, Porsche's tech break-thrus ending up in VW, Audi, Lambo, Bentley.

I liked the idea of Porsche being independent. I guess time will tell if this is a good thing.

I would have fired the CFO first, frankly.

Wendy got out with a nice chunk of change so I'm sure he won't have any hard feelings but as most of you guys have pointed out, it's unfortunate that Porsche isn't independent anymore. I have the feeling that not much will change really. Just look at Lamborghini now that Audi owns them. The cars are all the better for it.

Yeah, great job. Now the "Trojan Horse" on the Board at Porsche (Piech), can use VW parts for 911s, and dilute the Porsche brand even further...Well, at least Ferry Porsche started both of the companies.

Relax guys. The 'holding companies' will merge. Porsche car manufacturing will not migrate to some VW plant somewhere, it should still remain intact and independent, though the oversight board will have VW families on it. Let it all shake out, and I think we might all be happy.....
