Help Me To Shave 100 Pounds Off My Turbo..
#2
Replace the seats with that of the GT3RS (if possible) sell the car and get one that doesn't have all the fancy features such as heated seats, navigation (if your car has it) Replace the exhaust system (titanium are pretty light) Replace the battery (like you mentioned) All this right here is close to 100-120 lbs.
You can have a GT2 for 70k less

Battery- 30lbs
GT3 Seats- 60lbs
Spare and tools- 40lbs
Exhaust- 20lbs
Rear wing motor removal- 30lbs
Rear Seats and Subwoofer removal- 30lbs
Do any number of those and you can see a loss of 100lbs comes pretty easy. Good luck!

hey there.. to be honest we _only_ use that battery for track cars/guys because these cars draw a LOT of power and if you don't drive the car for a few days it'll be _dead_ . We tried so many different ones and finally for my "street" car I use an Optima red top. Saves about 10 pounds only but it's a better better anyways.

Good list there.. there's a few "little" things you can do but after this you being to compromise and/or it gets expensive;(

I know how you feel I dont blame you a Turbo cabriolet is quiet a heavy car, I drove the Turbo S cabriolet and it was marginally slower than the Coupe'.
What I found was effective in lowering the weight in my car "SLK" is to remove the bulky and very heavy resonator and replaced it with an xpipe, removed the oem primary cats and got sport 200 cell primary catalytics and removed teh spare tyre as well. That reduced around 40-45kilos from the car making it slightly faster and I really felt that after an ecu upgrade and drop in filters and compared it to a stock car it was substantial.
I hope you can use my example to guide you through.

GT3 seats save some good weight, LW battery, you can do a RWD conversion, exhaust ..

Ya, and even those things arent exactly cheap. BTW Shark, do you lose any weight with the GT2 clutch conversion? I heard over on 6 that you can lose like 20lbs by removing the acuator?
