TT Gasman's Ruf 550 - :-)
#15
A few more pics from the build ...
I can't say enough about the guys at RAC, totally professional in every respect. The car is awesome, I could not ask for more. It puts the power down like nothing else I have driven. It has sooo much TQ making it very addicting to apply the throttle, which can be tricky on cold tires.
The clutch stiffness is a non issue, it's only a tad more than stock.
The exhaust note is pretty good, a bit deeper than my Tubi- which was excellent- but still good. Just a bit different. Of course no drone or resonance.
The suspension is standard Bilstein B16, exactly the same as the Ruf version, so they saved me a few bucks. It is a little stiffer than my springs but it seems to handle well with little bounce. Most importantly, less scraping at this ride height,
Is it worth it? That's a personal question, I always wanted a Ruf car so it's worth it to me. Can you accomplish the same for less money? Yes, of course you can. I'm very happy.
I just can't decide about the R Turbo badge or not, I kind of like the stealth look. If you put the stock wheels on it's looks like any other 997TT, but don't mess with it!
