SPI 997GT2 60 - 130 in 6.06 s - first drive

i stopped in at SPI today to check the progress of my 997 GT2. i was amazed at the progress that had been made. i drove my GT2 for the first time today and was amazed at the drivability. There were no glitches and drove smoother than stock with much better throttle response. i couldn't help put plug in the drift box to see what she would do. Please remember, the goal of this project was to build the ultimate street car that i can drive to any gas station and pump in 93 octane gas. Unfortunately my driving was a bit rusty as i haven't driven her all winter. But i she still ran a 6.06 second from 60 to 130 mph on 93 octane pump gas. i think with a bit of practice, she definitely has a mid to high 5 second run in her. Anyways, i couldn't be happier with the results as she absolutely pulls like a freight train right up the the 7300 rpm redline. She is still undergoing the final stages of tuning, but so far it looks like we have a winner with this combination!

impressive for sure, but not as much as I expect from a 800 hp. I did 6.7 sec with less than 650 hp (with worse fuel than 93 octane pump gas), a 800 hp car should do it around 5.5 or so. But since that is your first try, that may be possible.

i think mid to high 5's are definitely possible. it was my first attempt at driving the car since winter so i am a bit rusty for sure.

1st gear is definitely an issue. however, it pulls with virtually no traction issues in 2nd gear. as you can see from the dyno graph, we bring in the power gradually to maximize traction.

Porsche's first gear is always an issue. AWD is wheel hopping. RWD is smoking tires. The performance of these cars come out in 2nd gear. Incredible numbers on pump gas and your set up. That is a very respectable number. With 650rwhp I managed to pull a 6.14s. You can definately reduce that by a few tenths. Congrats to you an Tym. Phenomonal numbers bro. (this is Art from 6speed)

6.14 s 60 - 130 with 650 rwhp sounds right. that is why i feel that with 703 rwhp i should be able to dip into the 5's on my. i will definitely give it another shot once i get her back in my garage. but 6.06 s is good for driving her for the first time.
