It says the motor is configured for 98 octane. What happens to power at 93 octane?

98 ROZ or RON = 93 octane in the US.

In Europe, the octane reading is only given by the RON (Research Octane Number) which has a higher value than MON (Motor Octane Number).

However, in the US, it is an average of the two (M+N)/2.

For example, RON = 98 and MON = 88 (typical readings of premium fuel regardless of country)

(R+M)/2 ===> 186/2 = 93 octane.
