Neenja -- They plug into the OBD port on the car and tell you any diagnostic codes the computer might be throwing related to your problem. You can get them for around $100 on up depending on additional features. It's a worthwhile purchase for sure.

It is actually more than that....durametric can also log many variables while driving to make sure they are where they need to be...e.g., FARs you will save plenty of $ over the long run with a good diagnostice and data logging tool...

Well if you don't know what those are....maybe data logging is not something you care about...Fuel Air Ratio...kind of will decide if your set-up correctly or if you will blow the engine up....

whoa you guys are scaring the hell outta me...but thanks for the warning I guess. Im not a computer guy at all but it seems pretty straightforward. I honestly think the problem I am having is a minor one. I feel like im being pver paranoid if I use this data logging system. What happened to buying a car and taking it for service like everyone else does?

No problem in that at all, remember you asked for help here. In order for us to help remotely, that requires information -- which the tool(s) above would provide. When you take it in for service they are going to check for trouble codes to give them an idea where to start. If you are uncomfortable at all with the process, I recommend you stick with having a service center handle it.

I just like to have the diagnostic tools that a dealer has or at least a modified version so I know they aren't BS-ing me in the service dept.
