I'm adding AWE Exhaust and GIAC tune to my 07 TT. I don't need anymore HP, beyond this setup. I am interested in upgrading the suspension and setup. I'll only attend 3-4 track weekends a year, so I have to compromise between daily street use and occasional track use. Primarily I'd like to tighten up the rear end. It squirms around a bit more than I like. I'm not losing traction, it just feels like too much lateral play in the rear suspension. The car is not lowered (too many bumps on my roads) and it's running PS2's.

Any recommendations for suspension, camber and alignment?

 

Buy sway bars with adjustment and cup or corsa tires, will help to improve your track days.

 

if you are running on steel brakes, use gt3 pads.

 

maybe go with bilsteins pss10 pasm + gmg sway bars, some owners love that setup

you may upgrade you brake lines and pads too.

 

No changes to the rear bushings???

 

Steel braided brake lines are a mistake and potentially dangerous on a street car. The reason is you need to be able to see the lines, if the rubber is covered with steel braid you may never know you have a bad line. They are great on a race car that receives regular R&R of the brake components, but a bad idea on a street car IMO.

 

what do gt3 brake pads do?

 

As Jiaim said, PSS10 may be a good system for you. It has ten settings from comfort to stiff so you could change it easily for your track weekends and return to mellower afterwards!

Based on the amount of track time you intend to do and taking into account what you would spend on the mods you name, I would buy some good instruction time instead with that money.

You will be surprised at how much faster you will be. You will have a lot more fun too.

 

The Track time comes with instruction time. Plus, I've been to the BMW Performance Center twice and I'm heading to Spring Mountain for a 3 day school next week. Not saying I can even take advantage of the HP mods, that was more for fun than anything else. I'm beyond the point of trying to get real fast. But, I can see myself leveraging some suspension set up techniques. At this point, I'm working on being smooth and very consistent. For that to happen I want the car to be very predictable, hence the request for suspension mods.
