snow tires

Anyone purchase them? my porsche parts dep quoted me 1800 for four tires...that seems stupidly high. Especially since I have a SUV

When I had my Audi RS4, the dealer sold me a set of wheels and TPMS at cost, price-matched TireRack on the tires, and mounted them for free since it was their policy to mount any tires purchased at the dealership for free. It was a great deal. Just one isolated example of why someone might by tires at the dealer.

Tire Rack is pricey up here because of the shipping and customs ... I'm close to the border, so when I need tires, I drive to the "local" Sam's Club. Saved 40% last time (and I did declare it at customs and everything).

Same as Cosco or whatever super cheap retail store. I'm in Montreal, the closest one is in Plattsburgh ... less than 2h away.

I am pretty sure that Sam's Club will special order you just about any tire you want.
