Ferrari Answers Questions on The New 7-Year Complimentary
Maintenance Program
Ferrari owners can be as passionate about maintaining their cars as they are about driving them. This past summer, Ferrari made that process easier and reduced its cost by introducing its new 7-Year Complimentary Maintenance Program. The program covers the 2012 California, 458 Italia, 458 Spider and FF models for up to seven years, with no limit on mileage, and is fully transferable to subsequent owners.
Ferrari News answers some questions that have come up regarding the coverage.
Q. I ordered my 2012 Ferrari before this program was announced. Is it covered?
A. All 2012 model year 458 Italia, 458 Spider, California and FF models are automatically covered by the Ferrari 7-Year Complimentary Maintenance Program, regardless of when they were ordered.
Q. I typically drive a new Ferrari a few thousand miles per year for a few years and then trade in for a new model. What services will my car receive under this program?
A. To summarize the program, clients who drive their covered Ferrari models under 12,500 miles per year will receive the annual scheduled service and inspection. Those who drive more than 12,500 miles per year will receive mileage-related factory-specified maintenance, regardless of how many miles they drive during the seven-year complimentary coverage period. In addition, all covered models will receive time-related maintenance, such as auxiliary belt and brake fluid replacements.
Q. I have previously bought Ferraris through the Ferrari Approved Certified Pre-Owned program. Since the complimentary maintenance plan is transferable, will it apply to cars in that program?
A. When a Ferrari covered by the 7-Year Complimentary Maintenance Program is sold or traded to an authorized Ferrari dealer, any remaining coverage stays with the car and transfers to the next owner for the time remaining in the plan, regardless of the mileage on the car.
Q. Are any maintenance procedures excluded?
A. All standard scheduled maintenance, both mileage and time-related, as specified in the model’s Owner’s Manual, will be covered for seven years, regardless of how many miles you drive the car. Any additional items not specified in the Owner’s Manual are not covered by the program.
Q. Does the 7-Year Complimentary Maintenance Program extend the car’s standard warranty?
A. No. The standard three-year/unlimited mileage new car limited warranty remains in place for all 2012 Ferrari models. Once the standard limited warranty period ends, the owner is responsible for the cost of repairs needed outside the scope of scheduled maintenance. You can, however, extend protection for up to 10 years with a Power Service Coverage plan. Ferrari News covered this program in its January 2011 issue. Please contact your authorized Ferrari dealer for further details.
Q. My 2011 model-year 458 Italia just arrived last summer, not long before this program was announced. Can I get this coverage for my car?
A. The 7-Year Maintenance Program can be added to a 2011 458 Italia or California for additional cost. Please contact your authorized Ferrari dealer for more information.

What i believe you are talking about is the extended warranties. In the case of warranty you are correct. In fact, almost all car manufacturers do not cover commercial use yet Ferrari (like many others) will still actually provide coverage unless there was misuse or abuse of the vehicle.
I hope that you found that helpful,
Garrett
