Ferrari was going 90 mph before fatal crash on PCH, police say [Updated]
We hope this was no one from the Teamspeed family, tragic never the less.
Authorities said a Ferrari involved in a spectacular crash on Sunday morning was going twice the legal speed limit of 45 mph when it hit a power pole and split in half on Pacific Coast Highway.

Basil Max Price III, 23, of Pomona, died after the car crashed on PCH just north of Sunset Boulevard at 1:27 a.m.

The car split in half and fell to the beach below. Both occupants were ejected. Price, the passenger, died at the scene and the driver, whose name has not been released, was taken to UCLA Medical Center in critical condition.

[Updated at 8:13 a.m.: The driver's name is Vladimir Skvortsov, 24, of Upland, police said.]

Price's family told KCBS-TV they still cannot believe what happened.

“He was loved by a lot of people and I loved him with all my heart. I wish I could have saved him,” his mother, who was not identified, told the station.

Authorities told KTLA News that the car fell 30 feet down a cliff and onto the beach. The two pieces of the car landed about 60 feet apart.

R.I.P.

But what a HORRIBLE place to speed. And on a Sunday. Talk about asking for trouble.

It takes a split second for a car to veer out of control if you not 100% focused on driving at any speed. He could have just glanced at the speedo for a half second and lost it. Regardless it's a shame to see young people lost over a joy ride.

PCH is a magnet for this stuff. Extremely disappointing.
