Finally it arrives: Hello beautiful!
I am very fortunate in that I grew up with a petrol head father and have always been around nice cars. My Sundays as a kid were spent tending to his cars, tinkering with them, and generally spending time with my old man doing the things he, and I loved. It was a great childhood and my first memories are of being at European race tracks with him as he raced his Chevron B16 and various other cars.
This passion has not dissipated with age and he continues to drive hard although shoulder injuries sustained 35 years ago have put paid to any racing, even historics but the fire still burns bright and the skills and reactions have not faded at all. So at the age of 71 he has just taken delivery of his new 458 Italia! Despite having my own cars I am welcome to use his (and he mine) and had a play in it yesterday before the weather closed in. What an epic car! God it sounds great on the overrun popping and banging like my race-catted Stradale and the gearbox makes the old F1 feel ridiculous. I look forward to having some more fun with it and i'll get some decent photos up soon.
