According to the latest information car is going to be presented at Frankfurt auto show 2011, this means almost a year of waiting. Car is almost ready, but delayed due to the recall problems and to give more time to coupe.

Specs are pretty the same as for coupe. Roof will be soft-top for few reasons - weight, combining retractable hard-top with rear engine position would be quite an issue and also they want to keep transparent hood. Also market positioning would be a problem too, hard-top convertible would hurt both California and 458 coupe sales. So according to my information it will be classic soft-top Spyder. I am not pretending to be 100% correct, just sharing that I have recieved and hope myself that it will exactly so because I am with those who want this Spyder to be soft-top.

May be DJ will contribute in later and create a new awesome rendering for this thread

A hard top convertible would be a disincentive to but the coupe. i think they made the right call.

Not sure who told you this D, but my sources from Maranello have confirmed the retractable hardtop to me a few times, I will check again today.
