I always laugh at how dramatically different the air intakes are between the F40 and F50. It's like 2 little slits on the F40 and 2 huge craters on the F50. And they both look awesome.

If you are referring to the hoods, those aren't air intakes. At least on the F50. Looks like it's designed to let air out to release pressure (like the vent next to the 458's headlights). The F40 hood looks more like an "intake" but both are rear engined so not sure where it leads. I am not as technical on these cars before my time.
