Ok, thanks for the help so far. A bit of background work this morning has uncovered he is heavily into the stock market and has made a fair amount of money that way while doing his studies. He seams a really down to earth type of guy so something really mad and outlandish might not be his thing. So I am working on a few options for his father to think about. I am compiling an option of a balls out single car option (will share full list later) a historic car option again working on a list. Last option a three tire option

Ok, here is what I have put down to offer my client, if I have missed any cars off my list please feel free to offer up other options.

Ok so balls out cars are as follows, CGT (used, have located two possibles) 458 Italia, if he will stretch budget a 599 GTO if he doesnt a GTB, GT2 RS, an SV if he will stretch budget, a DBS or DBS Volante, 772, clk gtr or a 911 Sport Classic limited edition and rare.

Second option is a 911 993 GT2 for £150k sourced through a contact and a GT3 RS.2 with the rest of the money.

Third option is a one off custom built motorbike for around £50k he loves his motorbikes so this could be a good option and a the 911 993 GT2. Both collectable and wont lose money and he has something to rememeber his birthday with.

FWIW, a good classic Ferrari will beat a 401k in term of returns. If all goes well.
