Haha, it's that unexpected yellow accent stitching that does it for me. But the more I've looked at it, the more I think it actually does work.

The 16 stands for the 16 F1 WDC's and I think the M stands for Mugello, the place where they unveiled the car to celebrate Ferrari's recent victory in the Formula 1 Constructor's World Championship 2008.
I actually think the "M" stands for "Manufacturer."

YOU are correct! The "M" does NOT stand for "Mugello". 16 "M" as in 16 "Manufacturer" (aka Constructor) Championships.
