F430 Scuderia Roll Bar and Fire Suppression
Hi all:
We recently completed an interesting project that we thought some of you might be interested in seeing. We were not forensic in documenting the work (too busy actually doing the work), but we have some decent shots that we'd like to share.
This particular car spends a fair amount of time on-track, so the client asked us to take on the design and fabrication of some added safety equipment for the car. To that end, we engineered and built a custom roll-bar, 6-point harnesses, and a fire suppression system that we're very proud of.
With the "canvas" being what it is, we took great care to try to account for every detail. "Safety" was foremost in our thoughts, but we also spent a lot of time designing a system that respects the structural issues and the aesthetic character of the car. This is not a "track only" racecar, but it's now well-prepared for club events and light track work, which was the whole idea.
In an effort to be brief, we've left a lot of the detailed meat off the bone, so to speak. However, if anyone has immediate questions we'd be happy to go into the build process in greater detail in this thread. We suspect some of you may have questions about how we handled securing the bar to the chassis, for example...happy to go over this if anyone is interested.
We've added just a few select images here, but there are a few more on our Site here: Ai Roll bar pics .

We will be covering the fire suppression system work via separate thread, but you can get a quick idea of how this was handled here: Ai Roll bar pics 2. As I say, we'll spend a moment covering the details of that part of the build on another thread.
This was a really great project, so we thought we'd pass along these shots, in case anyone is interested. Thanks.
