Mmm I'm not sure, they definitely weren't VERY racy, so I'd say standard.

Here's a partial photo:

They are standard, how was that compared with the racing seats in Scuderia?

Racing seats in the Scuderia were much more supportive (430 also had racing harness vs. standard seat belts) and awesome to sit in (haven't driven a car with racing seats of that degree before), but the 458 seats were comfortable and pretty supportive.

If I were buying one (hopefully I'd be in that position one day lol), I'd definitely opt for the racing seats.

wow fantastic post. Probably one of my favorites on this board. Your love for Ferraris despite the fact that you dont actually own one sounds very similar to mine. Oh what I would do to drive a Scud.

599XX does not equal 599GTO. The car from the museum is a 599XX (track-only car), the one in the photo is a 599GTO (limited edition 599 road car). You can tell by the channel in the hood that goes from the hood emblem back, and that there are no fender vents that this is a GTO and not a XX.

Great write up mate, thanks for sharing. Please post the videos you have, the Scuderia screenshots look great.

I'm hoping to visit Maranello early next year.

Thanks for sharing your experience. It's always fun to "test drive" cars like they were meant to be driven. I'm still a bit shocked that your friend came back after only 10 minutes though. Did he not like it at all?

He had only paid for 10 minutes – he's not much of a car guy (despite owning a modded WRX).

I do love Ferrari's but I'm definitely a Porsche fan at heart. Still haven't driven one though, meanwhile I've driven 3 Ferrari's.

They also had a white Gallardo Spyder for test drive, which I would have driven had I more time.

I wonder if they have anything similar near the Porsche factory in Germany?

I'll probably post the video in a little while, leaving for Vegas shortly, so possibly upon my return.

Can I upload a 950 MB HD video to YouTube or Vimeo without a paid account?
