What do you do with a brand new Ferrari 458 Italia and a rear-wheel drive Valentino Balboni Gallardo? Race, of course. The Ferrari and Lamborghini go head to head three times and everything looks legal as it appears to be a track day of some sorts taking place on a closed airfield. Each race’s footage is shot from the passenger side of the Ferrari and you get a fantastic aural experience of the new 458’s engine running up through the gears.

The 458 is appropriately set in ‘Race’ mode and the 550-2 is also equipped with the E-Gear. No official starting procedure is used, so it’s a bit difficult to judge exactly who’s the winner, but both cars come across as pretty equal; Whichever car got the initial jump stayed that same distance ahead of the other the entire time.

Other vehicles attending the event include a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Gullwing, a couple BMW M3s, several Porsche 911 Turbos and nearly a half-dozen Audi R8s and Nissan GT-Rs.
