The scuderia is all about performance, which means it will probably be surpassed very soon. Whereas the 599 is all about class and luxury, and is still blisteringly quick. The fact that you brought up a car like the 599 means that you're probably interested in luxury, which the 599 has. It will eventually become a classic.

I would re-iterate the Dana, Ferrari V12 FTW, so 599.
GO for HGTE, or GTO; or same some coin and get a 2008 for 275K (ish)

For comparable miles (around 1000 miles) and options (shields, carbonceramic brakes...) you should be able to get an 09 for around $285K, $270K for an 08, and $250K for an 07.

I just sold my Scud a few weeks ago and am also currently looking for a 599 08 and up.

The 599 takes off like a ballistic missile, go for it! Enzo Engine etc...

I saw an 07 599 for $235K at the dealer I bought my 360 at.

It was black on black and really clean. About 3000 miles.

If I had seen that car first, it would have been hard not to buy it.

I didn't think about that, I guess I was just going with the car I would want. Green, a 599 would probably be a great choice for you considering it trumps nearly all others in the category. It was EVO's ECOTY in 2007, and I trust their recommendations (except for ECOTY '09 ).

Beautifully specced F430 but I'd definitely trade up to the 599 if I were you.

Does your 430 have a Challenge rear grill?
If so, I'd spend a little coin on some lowering springs (GMG?), wheels, exhaust, and air filters. It's a great spec, comfortable enough, sporty, etc. And in the end, it's $100K cheaper than a 599. 599 is an AWESOME car, but IMO not worth $100K+ more than your stellar-looking 430. Spice up the 430 and it will feel like new again. And you're still saving some for maintenance.
