Stretched Out for Aero Stability
The 2010 Ferrari 458 Italia sits on an entirely new aluminum platform that is 20 percent more structurally rigid than the 430's chassis structure. It's much like the F430 in concept with its aluminum extrusions, sheets and die-cast pieces, but new technology has dramatically reduced wall thickness, and the hood, roof and door skins are in fact just 1.0mm thick.

Bulls*it called, bulls*it denied.

It says "skins" I am wondering if it's over something more structural. 1/16" thick you could punch through pretty easy but still would hold sum integraty. As all of my Ferrari's have always had a tough closing hood I'm sure lots of these hoods will get dented by fingers pushing them closed.

Meanwhile, the style of the Pininfarina-designed body clearly refers to the Ferrari FXX track car (itself a development of the Enzo), yet it's also interesting for the way it manages airflow within the bodywork, much like a Formula 1 car.
that's what it sayzz..

Only if you have the optional FS (Fart Sensor) package. It will automatically lower the windows 1 inch to relieve the pressure buildup.

Skins might be 1mm, but hell, the paint is thicker than that! And by the way, in that picture, he's about to scratch the paint with his watch. Bonehead move.

And he needs a helmet. The hair thing is way overdone.
