Removed The Exhaust Valves From My 360

I removed the exhaust vacuum valves from my 360 Modena so that I would get the full engine sound at all RPMs instead of just over 4000 RPMs. Now it appears that I have lost some low end torque.

Has anyone else done this and experienced a slight loss of power? The car sounds like a bat out of hell now - I love it. But I can't sacrifice any power.

Anyone have the same experience?

I avoided this mod as well, due to the technicians advising me that would be one of the symptoms. These high revving engines need that pressure down low for the torque.

Just bite the bullet and get a proper exhaust system!

The slight decrease in torque down low is directly correlated to the reduction of back pressure in your exhaust. You should, however, have a bit more power on the top end.

All the more reason why you can't give any of the power it does have up!

I am going to have my mechanic hook it back up tomorrow.

Experiment failed.

Yeah. I hear you there. But I am gonna sock that money into my F430 fund for now.

That is really what the car lacks - that additional 100 hp that the F430 has.

Novitec?

Kidding. The 360 is fast enough! Just get a nice exhaust and you wont give a shit about how fast it goes!
