I've always wondered, do most people keep the luggage as collector items, or use it on weekend trips?

Collector items almost exclusively...great for shows and completeness sake. For example, 20yrs later, an F40 without a luggage set is considered by most as "incomplete", so the hunt for a set begins.

I think its just attention to detail and the small things that make the ownership experience special.

For example, I noticed that all of the books/manuals on the 16M are specifically for that model and are designated as such. Ferrari could have cut some corners and just used F430 Spider manuals with some inserts etc, but even for a limited run of 130 US cars, they printed manuals/covers specifically for it. Just a small detail that does go noticed.
