So, you like cars and that's why you should get at job at Lambo in the biggest crisis ever?
Good luck with that
I'd start out at Hyundai or maybe Audi/BMW if you're lucky. If you're a good salesman, you'll work your way up.
Either that or you're a really hot girl, then just go in and apply.

I crawled my way into an Audi dealership back in '06. Got to scuff up the side molding of a yellow S4 Avant my first day!

That said, I live in New York and I am looking into working at a Ferrari or Lamborghini dealership. I am actually performing live at the Lamborghini LP560 event in Manhattan on Friday, March 13th and am hoping to meet some contacts there.

Does anyone know of any dealerships that are hiring or know of anyone I can talk to about this? Thank you!

Chris
Unfortunately, knowing the stats of the cars is not what it's all about. Most luxury dealers are going to require past experience in the field before just hiring someone as a sales rep. Right now the two brands you mentioned are not in the greatest shape either.

You're probably not going to like this, but your best bet is to apply for a lot tech or entry level position. If you are good at what you do and you have potential they will move you around quickly. Work is extremely hard to find right now if you are young/inexperienced in general let alone in the car business. Doing it because you love cars may not be the best reason either - it's not what you think it is.

Smart man. If your of any credible age (22+) and are personable, smart and an achiever you can probably make it from lot attendant --> sales/pr within 8-12 months time.

If you have an MBA, Ferrari of North America had a position open for an accountant a few weeks back....

Wow, this is good info guys, I really appreciate your feedback. What is involved in a lot tech, do they just train you or do you have to have a certification of some type?

One thing someone told me is that it's hard to get in if you don't know anyone, but I am performing live at a Lamborghini release party in Manhattan tomorrow, so people at the dealership will be there. Would this qualify?

Thanks for your help guys, I appreciate it very much and I am happy to share my passion of great cars with all of you.

Chris

Lot tech is an entry service/sales position (edit: there are lot techs for service cars, and lot techs for the "for sale" inventory). Move the cars, wash the cars, etc. There's actually quite a bit involved contrary to what most may think. Sure if you know someone it helps, but in this environment, that may or may not be enough. They are going to have to have a need that you can satisfy - it's an exchange like anything else. Do you know the owner or manager or something?

Good luck trying to get a job like that around these times. If you do get a job like that it will be awesome. I had a lot job at a private luxury dealer when I was 17. I drove Corvettes, Porsches, the owners Perrari, all BMWs and Audis. Oh to be young again.
