Once again our Teamspeed spies catch the new 911 turbo tearing it up at the ring undergoing more testing and lucky for us the video camera was fired up and ready to go. We gather we are still a good few months away but it’s always a hoot to guess what is going on under the camouflage these test mules like to carry. One thing for certain is the new turbo is sounding very aggressive!

As we have noted is previous reports, the overall design of the new 911 (Type 991) turbo stays relatively faithful to the current model, but there’s a revised front fascia, larger air intakes and a new four-tailpipe exhaust system. New to us is a rather large lower front lip on this test mule and the rear wing appears to be much more substantial then the set-up on the outgoing 997 Turbo.

Engine details remain elusive, but rumors suggest the car will have a turbocharged flat-six with approximately 550 PS (405 kW / 542 hp). It will be connected to a seven-speed manual or an optional PDK transmission, which should ensure this is one of the world’s fastest convertibles. Stay tuned for more soon.
