Car collector Michael Fux expands his unique collection with two stunning Pebble Beach debuts.

Entrepreneur and famous motoring enthusiast, Michael Fux, is no stranger to us here at Teamspeed.com for his amazing collection of exotic and luxury cars. But how does a man that has helped inspired manufacturers to create vehicles like the Fux Intense Jade Pearl Rolls-Royce Phantom take things to the next level? Well, it all starts with picking a flower. Fux found a fuschia-colored flower during the Pebble Beach Concours D’Elegance last year and handed a petal to the bespoke teams at both McLaren and Rolls-Royce. He challenged them to build a McLaren 720S and a Rolls-Royce Dawn that were inspired by the flower’s rich coloring. The “Fux Fuchsia” vehicles that debuted as a result of his idea are nothing short of spectacular.

We were lucky enough to see the Fux Fuschia McLaren 720S in person at an event during the Monterey car week festivities and can attest to its beauty. The fuschia paint has so much character and absolutely blew us away as the sun began to set and the pearlescent paint changed hues. The contrasting interior is stark white with MSO Bespoke white leather and matching Alcantara® floor mats, both with white stitching. The Fux Fuschia McLaren 720S perfectly displays the wide range of customizations that are possible with the Bespoke program through McLaren Special Operations.

According to Jolyon Nash, McLaren Automotive Executive Director, Global Sales and Marketing, “MSO provides McLaren owners with virtually limitless possibilities to tailor a car exactly to their needs and tastes; unique paint colors and finishes, custom leather and stitching and exotic materials are all available within a bespoke commission.” Mclaren also stated that Mr. Fux will retain exclusive rights to the paint on any other McLaren vehicle so that the Fux Fuschia will be instantly distinguishable as a Michael Fux car. The rest of us may simply have to find our own flower.

You would think that a color palette containing more than 44,000 options from Rolls-Royce would be plenty for most buyers. However, there are some clients for whom the available options are not enough. Michael Fux is certainly one of those clients. At McLaren the new unique paint color is simply known as “Fux Fuschia” but Rolls-Royce has cleverly deemed it “Fux Fuxia.” There are now seven Rolls-Royce colors specific to Mr. Fux including Fux Intense Jade Pearl, Fux Blue, Fux Yellow, and Fux Candy Red.

While we weren’t able to capture any images of the Fux Fuxia Rolls-Royce Dawn in the flesh, we did see it in passing and it certainly stands out from the crowd. Which is even more of an accomplishment considering the crowd of vehicles during the Pebble Beach weekend can include the likes of a Lamborghini Centenario or a Pagani Huayra. And while the fuschia paint is just as lovely here as it is on the McLaren 720S, the true pièce de rĂ©sistance for the Fux Fuxia Dawn is the matching convertible top. The deep color of the cloth top matches the paint well and compliments the colored portions of the interior.

Some of the more colorful Michael Fux cars of past have come under great criticism for being too garish. But we think these two fuschia — or should we say fuxia — machines are truly highlights of the large Fux collection. It would seem that it does pay to stop and smell the roses, so long as you then ask two iconic British manufacturers to make a car in their resemblance.
