U.K.’s Honest John Awards Names Jaguar F-Type Best Performance Car
Over 175 global awards have been bestowed upon revolutionary F-Type sportscar since its launch.
The Jaguar F-Type has won the “Performance Car of the Year” category at the U.K.’s prestigious Honest John Awards. The two-seater British sportscar has now claimed over 175 awards for its world-renowned abilities on both road and track.
The Honest John Performance Car award is the latest to be presented to the Jaguar F-Type for its timeless abilities and industry-leading performance capability. The Honest John Awards are one of the few in the automotive industry that are decided by its readers. The news and reviews related to specific models that bring the most attention to the site are chosen for the awards. In this case, the Jaguar F-Type was the site’s most popular Performance Car from April 2018 to April 2019.

Recognition from Honest John consumers has been given to the F-Type range as a whole, from the powerful and efficient 300PS, 2.0-litre Ingenium-powered P300 to Jaguar’s 200mph, 575PS F-Type SVR.

As standard, all F-Types now feature front and rear parking aids, rear camera, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration, as well as offering a huge amount of options including Adaptive and Configurable Dynamics and carbon ceramic brakes, making it a fantastically capable long-distance tourer and track-ready sportscar.
In celebration of 70 years of Jaguar sports cars, the F-Type range has been further enhanced by the addition of the Chequered Flag Special Edition. Based on the F-Type R-Dynamic Coupé and Convertible, and available with powerful four- and six-cylinder engines, the Chequered Flag features a range of subtle visual enhancements to the exterior and to the driver-focussed “1+1” cabin.
Highlights include a Black Contrast roof on the Coupé and a luxurious Windsor Leather interior featuring Performance seats with embossed headrests, a Dark Brushed Aluminium centre console trim finisher and – in recognition of Jaguar’s motorsport successes – a steering wheel with discrete checkered Flag logo and red leather band to mark the 12 o’clock position.
