This BMW M4’s Exhaust Makes a Great Tone Even Better

The new F82 BMW M4 and stablemate M3 are two of the most driver-focused cars out there. They have received praise all over the automotive world, but eventually when an owner gets their hands on one, they’ll likely want to have a few things changed to have it stand out. The obvious choice for the BMW enthusiast is to change the exhaust. Now that BMW has returned to the traditional inline 6 engine, traditionalists will be happy, and the engine’s unique sound can be highlighted.

Adjustable exhaust valving is found within the F8X, and Remus has made a sport style exhaust that retains that feature. As you can hear in the video below, even in the standard setting, the turbo 6 has more of a sporty rasp. But in any mode beyond that, the rasp is accompanied by a deep growl. When accelerating hard, the sound is more of a hard-edged growl rather than the high pitched shrill of the old inline 6. As a bonus though, both the automatic and manual transmission versions will see an increase in pops and burbles upon deceleration. It is a worthy upgrade for any M4 or M3.
