High-end auction house RM Sotheby’s flagship Monterey sale will be held during the legendary Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance week, and this year, they are extending their program by one day to offer “the most valuable single collection of motor cars ever presented at auction.”

An anonymous owner with excellent taste in sports cars is letting go of a portion of his (or her, you never know) collection as part of what Sotheby’s is calling “The Pinnacle Portfolio.”

It’s an apt name as the hand-picked group features extremely rare cars like a 1964 Ferrari 250 LM by Scaglietti, 1994 Ferrari F40 LM and 1998 McLaren F1 “The Road Going  LM”.

“While many of the world’s most impressive collections were established in the public eye of the car collecting world,” says RM’s Shelby Myers, “the ‘Pinnacle Portfolio’ was assembled with a clandestine, surgical precision unlike any other that has come to market.”

The McLaren F1 is expected to sell at over $12 million, and with 30 total cars in the lot, this sale could possibly exceed $65 million, setting a new record for a single private collection.

I’m sure all of these cars will find new, loving homes as the Pinnacle Portfolio rolls across the block on August 13, 2015 in Monterey, California.
