Special Chiron Sport ‘110 Ans Bugatti’ Debuts in NYC
French hyper sports carmaker debuted a tribute to France with unveiling of new release at New York International Auto Show.
Bugatti’s Chief Operating Officer, Maurizio Parlato, was in Manhattan to unveil the special Chiron Sport “110 ans Bugatti” to an array of media and VIPs during the New York International Auto Show’s first press preview day.
“Even though all 20 units of this car are sold, Bugatti is proud to share this special model in New York as part of the company’s 110th anniversary celebration,” said Parlato. “The Chiron Sport embodies the achievements Bugatti has made across its rich history and the ‘110 ans Bugatti’ is a tribute to France that we can share with our customers and fans.”
Limited to 20 examples, and with an exclusive handcrafted interior, the Chiron Sport “110 ans Bugatti” bears several tributes to the hues of France, with the tricolor “Le Bleu-Blanc-Rouge” symbolizing the famous ideals of liberty (blue), equality (white) and fraternity (red). Carbon Fiber makes up the body and the front end, while the Bugatti line and Bugatti radiator are crafted in aluminum. Additional salutes to France include the underside of the rear spoiler, which shows the French flag over its entire width, as well as the headrests and back rests of the sports seats, which are decorated by high-quality embroidery bearing the French flag in a vertical position with the “110 ans” logo.
As the world’s first production sports car with 1,500 horsepower, the 8.0-liter W16 engine with four turbochargers of the Chiron can reach 62 mph in 2.4 seconds (0-100 km/h) before hitting 261 mph (road limited) as an unfathomable maximum speed, solidifying its place as the pinnacle of automotive technology.
The foundation of Molsheim-based Bugatti comes from both design and engineering innovation, since the days of Ettore Bugatti’s first model in 1909, the Type 10, in which he deliberately broke new ground in terms of automotive ideation.
The year 2019 will continue to be a celebration of Ettore’s original mission, notably marked by the Chiron Sport “110 ans Bugatti.” One statement by Ettore Bugatti remained true throughout the long and proud history and will always define the French luxury brand: “If comparable, it is no longer Bugatti.”
