Report: Manual Transmission to be standard in 2013 911 GT3, PDK Possible Option
Teamspeed has learned from a very close source that the new 991 GT3 will come standard in manual transmission. All those holding their breath due to previous reports of Porsche offering the next generation GT3 in PDK only, can now take a deep breath and relax, at least we are 99% sure you can.
Power is expected to be at least 450 horsepower and as mentioned earlier, August Achleitner, the 911 project chief, confirmed that Porsche’s motorsport division is currently testing both manual and PDK versions of the new GT3.
That report did make us rather nervous though, noting that only one transmission will ultimately be offered for sale, with Achleitner hinting PDK is the favorite to get the nod, but we now learn that the GT3 will come in manual with PDK being optional.
