Radwood 2: Raddest Car Show this Side of 1985

By -

Lotus Esprit Turbo

If your heart, car, and hairdo are stuck in the ’80s and ’90s, then you officially have plans for December 2.

Across the pond, there’s this show called Goodwood. Maybe you’ve heard of it? People bring their meticulously restored (and maintained) vehicles and nearly everyone dresses in period-correct garb. Now, take that concept and imagine a car show with vehicles from the ’80s and ’90s, complete with period-correct bystanders. That’s Radwood.

Porsche 928 and 911

Cars, trucks, and bikes built from 1980 to 1999 are invited to join in the festivities. There’s also a category called “Radwood Royalty” that represents the “ultimate essence of the era.”

There’s no list of cars, but since it says “subject to organizer approval,” we imagine it’s subjective in the best way. If we had to guess, cars like the Lotus Esprit above, the Ferrari Testarossa, DeLorean DMC-12, and a Celica Supra with rear-window louvers would fit the bill.

Are you into chop-top lowered Nissan and Toyota pickups? GM G-bodies with wire wheels? Fox body Mustangs? IROC Camaros? W124 Mercedes? Mk. III Supras? The best Porsche 911s? Ferrari F50’s? The point is: If you like the cars from this era, you’re welcome.

Please note that period-correct dress is required, so dig deep in your closet. Hypercolors, acid wash jeans, mirrored sunglasses, and your Michael Jackson jacket are all appropriate again. For one day, at least.
