All you need to bring home the infamous DeltaWing is a hefty bank account and a peculiar taste in automobiles.

Are you the kind of guy that would rather drive a Mosler than a McLaren? Or a Caterham instead of a Lotus? Well, then chances are you’ll ignore those race-prepped Porsche 911s going up for sale this winter. Instead, you can zero-in on this one-of-a-kind racing machine: A 2013 DeltaWing Coupe.

DeltaWing on the track.

Listed by its parent company Panoz, the outrageous race car is said to be chassis #001, as in the very first one ever made.

According to the listing, this vehicle competed in the P1 Class in the American Le Mans Series (ALMS), as well as in the Prototype 2 (P2) Class in the IMSA championship. Chassis #002 was destroyed in a collision at the 2016 Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona. Chassis #003 will remain in Don Panoz’s own collection/museum.

The DeltaWing was a joint venture between Ben Bowlby (designer), Dan Gurney’s All American Racers (builder), and Panoz. The funky race car ran as part of Duncan Dayton’s Highcroft Racing team. Engines were provided by Nissan in exchange for naming rights. Its shape was designed to achieve superior top and cornering speeds thanks to its low drag coefficient.

You could own this DeltaWing.

A “roadster” DeltaWing competed at the 2012 Le Mans 24 Hours, it but retired after only 75 laps due to a collision. The coupe was later developed and enjoyed more success. Unfortunately, it was ultimately engulfed in legal turmoil after accusations of intellectual property theft tore the Panoz-Nissan partnership apart.

Price? A mere $375,000. You in?
