Peugeot Awarded ‘Most Dependable Volume Brand’ by J.D. Power
Owners polled on all aspects of ownership between the first 12-36 months.
More than 11,000 vehicle owners in the UK have voted Peugeot as the ‘Most Dependable Volume Brand’ in the annual J.D. Power customer satisfaction survey, with the Peugeot 208 also winning the ‘Most Dependable Small Car’ award, at a ceremony held at the Science Museum in London on May 9.
J.D. Power’s surveys included over 11,000 car owners rating their vehicles between the first 12 to 36 months of ownership.
Peugeot was ranked the ‘Most Dependable Volume Brand’ in the UK, beating a number of key rivals to the title. The triumph means Peugeot owners were most happy with their vehicles’ reliability, running costs and build quality.
In the survey, owners are asked to rate their vehicle over 177 areas split into eight categories, ranging from engine and transmission to infotainment and seat material quality. Overall dependability is determined by the lowest number of problems experienced per 100 vehicles, and Peugeot was rated the best, ahead of brands including Škoda and Hyundai.
‘Peugeot did a great job in understanding the needs of its consumers, and therefore deserves to win the J.D. Power award for U.K.’s most dependable brand.’
The J.D. Power Vehicle Dependability Study was also split into eight vehicle segments, with the Peugeot 208 winning the ‘Most Dependable Small Car’ award.

Power Europe. “Peugeot did a great job in understanding the needs of its consumers, and therefore deserves to win the J.D. Power award for U.K.’s most dependable brand 2019, and the Peugeot 208 as highest rated vehicle in its segment.â€
“The J.D. Power survey is one of the most respected ownership surveys in the industry, so it means a lot to top the rankings not just once but twice,” said David Peel, Managing Director of Peugeot UK. “We’re committed to building vehicles with uncompromising quality, an instinctive driving experience and sharp design, and it’s great to see owners telling us they find all these characteristics when living with our vehicles year in year out.â€
