Petersen’s Hollywood Dream Machines Headed to the Drive-in
Famous rides from the big screen will be on display at Los Angeles’ The Grove alongside the films they appeared in.
The Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles announced that it will bring some of the notable vehicles from its “Hollywood Dream Machines: Vehicles of Science Fiction and Fantasy” exhibit, among other famous Hollywood vehicles from its collection, to SoCal’s The Grove shopping and dining center. And what better place for the cars to be than the drive-in?
Various cars will be at Level 8 Drive-In Presented by Citi, a unique luxury drive-in movie theater experience. The experience, will occur on the last Wednesday of each month until September 2019, and will feature films alongside their iconic feature vehicles: The Great Gatsby and the 1932 Duesenberg, Back to the Future and the DeLorean “Time Machine,” and Iron Man and the 1932 Ford Roadster, respectively.
“We’re proud to be part of Level 8 at The Grove this summer,” said Petersen Automotive Museum Executive Director Terry L. Karges. “This will be a rare opportunity for fans to see and enjoy these automotive Hollywood heroes in a public setting outside of the Petersen.”
Located on the roof of the parking structure at The Grove, the event will also showcase luxury vehicles available for seating during the film screenings courtesy of O’Gara Coach and complimentary movie theater staple foods and refreshments. Ride-sharing service Uber will also provide plush seating accommodations to those wishing not to drive.
The full schedule of events is:
- July 31 – The Great Gatsby
- August 28 – Back to the Future
- September 25 – Iron Man
Level 8 Drive-In is open to the public and free for all attendees. Attendance is limited, reservations and further information are available online.
