The Pagani Zonda Would Have Rocked the ’80s
The 1980s were a wild time in the world of supercars. This is the era that brought us things like the Lamborghini Countach and the Ferrari Testarossa. These machines represented a special time in culture and the history of the supercar. But what if some of today’s more modern supercar companies were around in the heydays of the 1980s? I ask you to feast your eyes on this magnificent creation and wonder no more.
Created by a Turkish designer by the name of Oguz Spiahioglu, this retro look at the Pagani Zonda takes the car’s smooth and aerodynamic shape and gives it the signature creases, folds, and square edges that were popular in the ’80s. The result is a car that looks like it would have fit in perfectly in Miami Vice, but somehow it’s still beautiful in that special Pagani way.
To give it that last little touch, Oguz rendered the car in several styles and colors that were relevant to the decade, including stylized comic drawings and bright pink paint. There is even a unitard-wearing exerciser with leg warmers in one shot. This is everything that that the big and wild ’80s ever were, or ever wanted to be. I love it. Check it out in the gallery below. And have yourselves a happy Throwback Thursday.
