Pagani Introduces 829 Horsepower Huayra Tricolore

The all-new Huayra Tricolore is the first celebration model by Pagani in 11 years and the most powerful offering the Italian automaker has ever produced.

Pagani’s long-running tradition proudly celebrates Frecce Tricolori and the Italian supercar manufacturer has now unveiled an all-new exclusive model to commemorate the 60th anniversary of 313° Gruppo Addestramento Acrobatico, Pattuglia Acrobatica Nazionale. The limited-edition variant of Pagani Huayra sports tri-color styling accents and happens to be the most powerful offering the Italian automaker has ever produced.

The new Huayra Tricolore is the first celebration model Pagani has introduced since its Zonda Cinque-based Tricolore offering, which was unwilled almost 11 years ago. The gorgeous supercar is powered by a 6-liter V12 motor, which has been sourced from Merc’s AMG performance division. The 12 cylinder motor gets a twin-Turbocharger set-up that according to Pagani, develops 829 HP of power and 811 lb-ft of peak torque in the Huayra Tricolore.

In its latest state of tune, the 6-liter motor in the tri-color edition produces more power than the drivetrain that propels Pagani Imola. The motor is mated to a seven-speed sequential transmission, which sends the power to the rear wheels. Huayra Tricolore’s AMG powerplant is an impressive piece of kit and delivers impressive performance, especially for a car that weighs just 2,800 lbs (dry).

To put things in perspective, at 2800 lbs, Huayra Tricolore weighs as much as a three-cylinder VW Golf. Even the seven-speed sequential gearbox is 35 percent lighter than a dual-clutch transmission. The car sports a Carbo-Titanium construction, and even though Pagani has not disclosed the 0 to 60 MPH acceleration time of the Huayra Tricolore, we estimate it takes the supercar less than three seconds to complete the sprint.

Huayra Tricolore’s styling is inspired by the Aermacchi MB-339 light attack aircraft, and the bodywork proudly flaunts Italian flag motifs. The company has also made several changes to the car’s bodywork, and the front bumper now features an all-new splitter and large air intakes.

There is also a prominent air intake that sits atop the cabin and funnels cold air into the engine bay. The supercar runs an electronically controlled coil springs and shock absorber suspension setup and rides on monolithic aluminum alloy wheels.

Pagani has announced that only three examples of the Huayra Tricolore will enter production, and each model will get a $6.7 million (€5.5 million) price tag.
