Initial sketches provide insight into design of eighth generation model.
If there’s one car you could call a bestseller, it’s the Golf. Developed continuously from one generation to the next, it has become firmly established worldwide. On October 24, Volkswagen will present the eighth generation of the Golf at a world premiere in Wolfsburg. The new model will reportedly feature more digitalisation and connectivity than ever before, and come packed with innovations and sporting a “highly expressive design,” said Volkswagen in a recent press statement.
The strengths that have made the Golf a worldwide bestseller have reportedly been further perfected in the new model. In addition to the new range of engines, further enhanced suspension technology provides a boost in terms of agility.
“The new Golf is also a trendsetter in terms of its digitalized and connectivity-oriented interior world, its assisted driving features and its online-based functions and services,” said Volkswagen.
“Its exterior design is more dynamic than ever before, and yet it is instantly recognisable as a Golf from all sides,” said the company in a recent media announcement. “On the inside, fresh colors and fabrics define the look of the new compact model, as well as a new digital cockpit.”
The latest generation of the Golf is due to go on the market in December.
