Mercedes AMG SLS E-cell Spied Testing
What initially looks like a normal AMG SLS is actually one of the first prototypes for the production version of the Mercedes AMG SLS E-cell. How can we tell? First, when we spotted it driving, there was no sound. But that’s a little hard to show that with a photo. The more compelling reason? The lack of exhaust pipes. It’s just as good of an indicator of the car’s drivetrain, and much easier to show with still photos. The E-cell was pre-viewed as a concept car about a year ago, and these shots show that Mercedes and AMG are not going to let Audi and its R8 e-tron play alone.
